Yes. Every time you add, remove, or split the strings, you need to reset the Light number in the app.

What if some LEDs still don't light up after setting the number?

Check if the set number matches the actual LED count, and ensure all connections are secure. Restart the controller if needed.

What happens if I set the number higher than the actual LEDs?

The extra LEDs will not light up, and you may see shifted effects or abnormal behavior in some bulbs.

Why are the light effects inconsistent with the settings?

Check if any branches lights haven't been set individually, or if you haven't saved and restarted after changing the settings.

Cutting & Reconnecting

Can I cut the light strings anywhere I want?

You can only cut the light string at the marked cut points between two LEDs. Never cut through an LED or any circuit component.

Can the cut-off segments still be used?

The leftover segment can be used as another light string, just connect it to the controller or T-splitter using the connector.

Can I splice together light strings of different lengths?

Yes, you can, as long as each connector is properly attached and the total length does not exceed the system’s maximum.

Do I need to update the app settings after cutting/reconnecting?

Yes! After any cutting, extension, or reconnection, set the light number in the app again to ensure proper effects and control.

Do I need to disconnect the power before cutting or reconnecting?

Power must be disconnected before operation to avoid short circuits or safety hazards.

How can I ensure waterproofing after cutting or reconnecting?

Always use the provided waterproof junction box and end cap to tightly seal every connector.

Do I need to use an End Cap if I didn’t cut the lights?

No. It’s only needed after cutting the light string.

Can I reuse the End Cap?

No, it’s single-use. Removing and reinstalling it may compromise waterproofing.

What happens if I don’t use end cap after cutting?

Water or moisture may enter the exposed end, leading to damage or malfunction.

Can the Waterproof Junction Box be reused?

No. It is designed for single use only. Reusing it may compromise its waterproof performance.

How do I open the Waterproof Junction Box?

Press firmly on one side of the box to open it.
Note: Do not attempt to open it by pressing both sides at the same time.

What if lights after the junction box don’t work?

Check if:
The wires are connected in the correct order.
The connections are tight.
If you find loose or incorrect wiring, replace the junction box with a new one (it cannot be reused).

Can I cut the lights while powered on?

Technically yes, but for your safety, we strongly recommend turning off the power before cutting.

Power Extension Cords

Can I connect multiple power extension cords together?

It is not recommended to have more than 6 ft of extension cords connected to a single power adapter. Exceeding this may cause voltage drops and reduced brightness.

Will using a power extension cord affect the brightness of the lights?

No, as long as the total extension length is within the recommended limit and all waterproof connectors are properly secured.

Can I use third-party power extension cords?

Not recommended. For safety and to maintain waterproof performance, use only original ASAHOM power extension cords.

What happens if the total extension length exceeds the maximum limit?

Exceeding the recommended length may result in voltage drop, causing lights to dim or operate unstably.

T-Splitter

What's the difference between T-Splitter and Power Injection T-connector?

T-Splitter splits signal only.Power Injection T-connect adds extra power for long runs.

Can I exceed 288 LEDs per branch?

No. Each branch (Out1/Out2) must stay within 288 LEDs.

Do I need to use T-Splitter for every setup?

No. Only use it when your layout requires two branches from one controller output.

What if lights don’t respond after setup?

Check Out1/Out2 light count settings in the app and ensure the T-Splitter is paired.

How Are the Lights Ordered?

After the T‑Splitter is configured, the system treats Branch Out and Main Out as two consecutive sections:
The light sequence starts from Branch Out and continues into Main Out.
For effects that flow across all lights (like gradients or chases), the system sees Branch Out → Main Out as a single continuous string.

Power Injection T-Connector

When should I use a Power Injection T‑Connector?

When the total number of LEDs exceeds 144, or if you notice brightness drop at the far end of the lights.

Can one power adapter support all my lights?

No. Each power adapter supports up to 144 LEDs only. To power more LEDs, you must use an additional power adapter with the T‑connector.

Can I connect multiple T‑connectors in the same setup?

Yes, for very large installations (e.g., 288 or 576 LEDs), you can use multiple T‑connectors to inject power at different points.

Does the T‑connector split both power and signal?

No. The T‑connector only injects additional power. It does not split or duplicate signal lines.

What if I exceed 288 LEDs on one controller output?

This is not supported. Each controller output supports up to 288 LEDs maximum. Use multiple controllers for larger setups.

Do I need to use both wire clips and screws?

Yes. Wire clips help during initial installation, but screws are essential for permanent outdoor stability.

Wall-Mount Enclosure Kit

Can I use the Wall-Mount Enclosure Kit on ASAHOM S1070 series?

No. Currently only ASAHOM S1080 series is compatible.

Is the Wall-Mount Enclosure Kit weatherproof?

Yes. It is designed to withstand outdoor conditions when properly installed.

A screw driver and drill (for hard surfaces) are recommended for mounting.

Can I remove and reuse the Wall-Mount Enclosure Kit?

Yes. The kit can be removed and reinstalled if needed, but handled with care.

Track‑Mount Kit

Is the Track‑Mount Kit waterproof?

Yes. It provides extra shielding, but the lights themselves remain IP67 rated.

Can I cut the tracks to fit shorter runs?

Yes. Tracks are modular and can be cut with standard tools.

Does the Track‑Mount Kit fit all ASAHOM models?

No. Check your product series compatibility (currently supports S1080).

Do I need special tools for installation?

No. A drill and screwdriver are sufficient for most installations.

Light String Extension Cords

What is the maximum total length of extension cords that can be connected?

It is recommended that the total length of all extension cords connected to a single power supply should not exceed 36 ft (about 11 m) to ensure stable signal and power supply. Exceeding this length may result in reduced brightness or unstable signal at the end of the light string.

Will using multiple extension cords affect the brightness or effects of the lights?

Excessive extension cord length may cause voltage drop, affecting the brightness and stability of end LEDs. Choose lengths wisely based on installation needs.

How do I correctly connect the extension cord with the light string or controller?

Align the arrow marks on the connectors, insert fully, and then tighten the waterproof nut clockwise.

Can I connect several extension cords in series?

Yes, you can, but the total length should not exceed the recommended maximum, or the signal may weaken and some LEDs may not light up.

Can the extension cord be used with T-splitter?

Yes. For multi-branch installations, use T-splitter with extension cords to ensure stable power and signal for each branch.

Are the extension cords waterproof and suitable for outdoor use?

Extension cords are designed with IP67 waterproof rating and are suitable for permanent outdoor use. Always tighten the waterproof nut on connectors to prevent water ingress.

What should I do if the extension cord becomes loose or has poor contact?

Check if the connectors are properly aligned and fully tightened. If needed, unplug and reconnect, ensuring there is no debris and contact is secure.

There is no fixed limit for custom palettes, but too many may affect App performance on older phones.

Can I edit or delete a custom palette?

Yes. Long-press the palette to access options for Pin to Top, Edit, and Delete.

Why does my palette look different on the lights compared to the App preview?

The screen preview may differ slightly from the actual lights due to LED characteristics and installation layout.

Can I use HEX, RGB, or HSV values for precise colors?

Yes. Tap a color block in the palette editor to open the color value input window.

Will my custom palettes sync across devices?

Yes, as long as you log in to the same ASAHOM account, your palettes will sync automatically.

Effects

Why doesn’t the selected color palette apply to my effect?

Some effects do not support color palettes. Look for a note in the effect selector indicating whether a palette can be used.

Why doesn’t the light change when I select a new effect?

This may be due to effect parameters. Try adjusting parameters like speed or intensity to activate the effect.

Why is my effect static and not dynamic?

Effects like Percent Solid or Solid Pattern are designed to be static and will not change over time.

Why does the preview in Current Effect look different from the actual lights?

Screen previews may have slight color differences. Also, the preview does not reflect your actual light count or zone settings.
